Firmstone Manor was purchased by Brian Deacon and Michael Carland in the fall of 2018. The property was in extremely bad shape. The property was overgrown with vines and brush that covered all of the buildings and the roofs on all the cottages, carriage house, kitchen house and main manor were leaking.
Brian and Michael have been painstakingly restoring the main manor, which is over 10,000 sq/ft, and in 2022 started the renovation on the cottages which will be used as short-term rentals for guests visiting Clifton Forge, Lexington, and the surrounding area. When completed there will be 10 different cottages.
